Luna's owners, Alison Davis and Web Barney, are excited to open their doors to butterfly enthusiasts and plant lovers (and anything nature or animal related). Alison is a Professor of Agricultural Economics at UK and directs CEDIK, a statewide center dedicated to community and economic development. It's been a while, but Alison has a long storied past in restaurant management and a love of wine, food, and coffee.
Web is a quiet, passionate lover of nature and a father to two amazing children with the same values. He is a trained entomologist from the University of Kentucky. Besides working at UK in the College of Agriculture, Web has also spent time both as an Occupational Therapist and recently retired from UPS after 14 years of delivering packages. As a hobby, Web has been breeding moths and butterflies for the last five years. In addition, Web raises native plants to support the ecosystem these beautiful creatures need to live and reproduce.
Together, Web and Alison have been married for 12 years. They have five dogs who rule their lives.
In their spare time, they play tennis.
